What glass does here
Southport has the oldest glass we regularly work on. Original nineteenth-century sashes with wavy annealed panes and lime putty glazing are common in the historic core, and they need a different set of rules: no blades, no pressure near the glazing line, and a soft touch on the putty itself.
River-facing elevations here get both salt from the mouth of the Cape Fear and a fine film off the shipping channel. Three to four months keeps them right. We run Southport fortnightly on Fridays because of the drive.

Wavy glass looks streaky
Nineteenth-century cylinder glass has genuine surface distortion. What looks like a streak is often the glass itself, and we will show you at a low angle.
Channel film
River-facing glass picks up a fine particulate off the shipping channel on top of the salt. It needs contact work, not just a pure-water rinse.
